Bike jacks

Washing a bike can be a lot easier by utilizing bike jacks so that the wheels can spin freely and without disruption. This will permit you to clean the bike tires more completely than you can with the bike propped on the kickstand.

  1. Utilize your motorcycle lift to jack the bike some inches off the level ground. The bike should be in a stable position and the wheels should be able to spin without interruption and freely.
  2. Start with your wheels. Utilize your wheel and tire cleaner to splash the cleaner into your front wheel. Spray both sections of the tire with cleaner, spinning as you go. Let it stay there for some minutes then scrub it with sponge. Spray the cleaner off with the hose. Try doing this again with the back tire.
  3. Splash in soap in your bucket. Put in with warm water. Soak your motorcycle with the hose.
  4. Utilize the wash mitt and the soapy water, start washing your bike. Begin at the front fairing, if it is applicable. You want to begin at the top so gravity is working with you. You will maybe want to prevent washing your windshield with the mitt. Cleanse with your hose on a usual basis as you go.
  5. Transport from the front of your bike down one portion, again working from top to bottom. Give special attention to all those nooks and crannies!
  6. Once you have cleaned all the way back to the beginning, damp your chamois cloth with warm water. Clan your bike beginning where you began washing. The same concept applies to drying your bike.  Make sure to wring your chamois every so often to prevent leaving water spots.
  7. Lower your bike down off the lift using the jack. You are all done.
